Waves aren't exactly exploding everywhere - but they are reaching dangerous levels on beaches during high tides (see video of Lincoln City today)

The south coast has some of the more major issues.

A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect for the south central Oregon coast through 1 p.m. Saturday, with the NWS warning of minor flooding around times of high tide. Low-lying areas are especially at risk.

The advisory covers Coos Bay and nearby estuaries, including Reedsport, Coos Bay, Bandon and Port Orford. Low-lying roads, property and some critical infrastructure could see brief inundation.

“High astronomical tides combined with storm activity offshore could lead to minor coastal flooding at times of high tide,” the NWS said. “This is most likely around Coos Bay and estuaries. The greatest risk of coastal flooding will be associated with the high tides (1-2 hours before and after) Saturday morning/early Saturday afternoon. Do not drive through water of unknown depth.”

For areas north of there, more is coming for Pacific City, Oceanside, Garibaldi, Manzanita, Cannon Beach and Seaside – all the way into Long Beach and farther up. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Clatsop and Tillamook counties and the south Washington coast, where forecasters expect minor tidal overflow during the midday high tide. Water levels may rise up to a foot above ground in low-lying areas near bays, sloughs and the lower ends of coastal rivers.

The NWS says tidal gauges are running high, with Toke Point forecast to reach about 11.8 feet and Garibaldi expected to peak near 10.8 feet. Residents in vulnerable areas should be prepared for brief flooding around the high-tide window.

"Areas of concern include HWY 101 near Raymond and Seaside, and Fraser Rd in Tillamook County," NWS said.

Also for the Washington coast, there's probably the highest chance of dangerous floods.

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for the Washington coast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, calling for significant flooding in low-lying areas of Grays Harbor County. Water levels could rise 2.5 to 3 feet above ground level along shorelines and vulnerable coastal zones. Washington Coast Weather

Sunday sees another Coastal Flood Watch follows, when another round of significant flooding is possible. Forecasters say inundation could reach 2.5 to 3.25 feet above ground level during the highest tides.

The NWS warns that high tides combined with storm surge may lead to widespread road closures, flooding of homes and businesses, and potential damage or erosion along the shoreline. Residents are urged to protect flood-prone property and avoid driving through barricades or standing water.

Surf sits below ten feet in most areas of the Pacific Northwest coastline, but photos and video of high tides in the last two days have shown some very dangerous beaches at times. Be extremely cautious on the coastline, and stay off beaches where there's only cliffs behind you and no quick exit over a foredune.

The south coast will get more dangerous with offshore waves hitting much higher marks. Seas on Saturday run 12 to 16 feet and build to 15 to 20 feet in the afternoon. Saturday night sees 15 to 20 feet, easing to 14 to 16 feet after midnight. On Sunday, seas are 11 to 14 feet and settle to 10 to 12 feet later in the day. Sunday night brings seas of 8 to 10 feet, followed by 8 to 9 feet on Monday.
