(Lincoln City, Oregon) – It's rare to find openings for places to stay on the beach in early September. It's rarer still to find something left open for Labor Day weekend. (Above: Lincoln City's Porthole Property vacation rental).

And even if there's an opening, most lodging spots on the coast are still charging summer prices because the rest of the world has caught on to the whole Second Summer thing: September and early October are the best weather of the entire year on the Oregon coastline.

Some openings for this period have popped up in Lincoln City – and they've seen a good price drop from much of the season as well. A1 Beach Rentals in town said these are going for “at least 25-30%” less.

Check out the openings:

The fully renovated Shoreline Chateau in Roads End offers panoramic ocean views and upscale comfort just steps from the sand. Originally built in 1934, the home now features modern furnishings, luxury linens, and a hot tub overlooking the surf. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame dramatic sunsets, while private beach stairs lead directly to the shore. Two living rooms, each with flat-screen TVs and entertainment options, make it ideal for families or groups.

With space for up to 10 guests, the home includes a full kitchen, kitchenette, and cozy fireplace. Wi-Fi, oceanfront deck access, and proximity to tide pools and the casino add to its appeal. A guest recently called it “the best home we have stayed in for the last 7 years.” Parking fits three small to mid-size vehicles. Shoreline Chateau

Moonbreaker’s layered deck space makes it a prime perch for moonlit evenings and daytime coastal reverie. Tucked into Lincoln City’s northernmost stretch; the quiet, scenic Roads End district; the home enjoys a rare sense of seclusion, especially during peak Oregon coast summer months. Once its own village before Lincoln City unified in 1964, Roads End still feels like a hidden enclave. The house sits near the final beach access point, offering a private path to the sand and views of the rugged shoreline near Wizard Rock.

It has two bedrooms and accommodates four people.

Inside, Moonbreaker blends Cape Cod charm with upscale touches. Polished wood and marble floors set a refined tone, while the open layout and gourmet kitchen invite relaxed gatherings. The master bedroom features a fireplace, and the second bedroom includes its own bath. A standout amenity is the two-person jetted tub, positioned near expansive windows that frame the surf - perfect for soaking in the scenery.

Stairs to the Sea is aptly named: it's mere steps to the sands. This beautifully restored historic home offers sweeping views of the sand and surf – along with Adirondack chairs. This 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is a temporal trip to the coast with that atmosphere. Inside, you'll find an impressive 15-foot stone gas fireplace, beamed ceilings, and exquisite hand-crafted molding and woodwork. The main room features a large flat-screen TV, a dining area, and a kitchen, and all with breathtaking surf views.

A secluded patio that leads to a fenced yard and a hot tub overlooking the beach. With space to accommodate 4 cars and up to 10 guests (including visitors), "Stairs to the Sea" is even more of a deal during this time of year.

The Porthole in Lincoln City comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests with three queen beds and four twins. Perched at the end of a quiet road, it offers sweeping ocean views from a wraparound second-story deck and a cliffside patio below, complete with a potbelly stove, swinging seat, and ample Adirondack chairs for lounging in any weather.

Inside, the home evokes classic coastal charm with vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, and vintage woodwork. A custom river rock fireplace anchors the spacious living area, while large windows frame dramatic views throughout. Guests can enjoy a hot tub, and the expansive layout makes it ideal for families or groups seeking both comfort and character.

This one has openings over Labor Day weekend. Another grand feature: the river rock fireplace, custom-made by the owners. Porthole Site

Beachfront Lodge and Loft offers five bedrooms and accommodates up to 16 guests, making it ideal for large groups or family gatherings. Located near the D River access in Lincoln City, the home provides front-row views of kite festivals, sandy shores, crashing surf, and seasonal whale sightings. The expansive oceanfront living room features a 75" high-definition screen with cable, while upstairs includes a smart TV with Roku and a foosball room for added entertainment.

Set on a rare double lot, the property boasts a spacious grassy yard perfect for beachside barbecues or croquet matches. A gazebo and multiple Adirondack chairs invite outdoor lounging with panoramic views of the coast. Includes: a kitchenette, dining table, puzzles and games. There's a large stone mantel with a gas fireplace and wall-to-wall windows completes the cozy yet open atmosphere, offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. Beachfront Lodge and Loft
