(Lincoln City, Oregon) – Amid the sometimes complex machinations of Highway 101 in Lincoln City, what is actually a bit of a hubbub as you're trying to get away from it all, there's a familiar and even kind of old sight that offers respite. It's been around awhile, enough to have followings that span generations now, but it doesn't look a day over a decade, really.

Inn at Wecoma, at the northern edges of Lincoln City, sits right on 101 – but if feels distant from that almost eternal rush hour of the Oregon coast's highway. It stands out in ways you can't actually see from the road: it's not only pup friendly but it has an awesome set of special packages that cater to special occasions. Or they can make a regular occasion something extraordinary.

But first the basics:

Rooms and suites at the Inn at Wecoma (www.innatwecoma.com) are designed with a practical, eco-minded approach: reclaimed materials and modern conveniences are their credo and biz model. Among the pleasantries are being close to just about everything in Lincoln City, and cajoling aspects like a year-round heated indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. This is one heckuva lovely addition after spending a day bouncing around beaches of the central Oregon coast.

You can also snag a hot continental breakfast each and every day.

All rooms here include complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen HDTV, eco-friendly bath products, a hairdryer, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, expanded cable channels, DVD player, iHome alarm clock dock, and a contemporary bathroom with tub/shower and a granite countertop.
There are a variety of room types as well.

Balcony and patio rooms add sliding-door access to inimitable Oregon coast air, offered in configurations such as Double Queen with Balcony, Deluxe King with Fireplace, and Double Queen with Patio. With some of these you get partial glimpses of the waves a few blocks away. Two-room suites cater to families seeking larger spaces, providing a more comfortable layout for groups. Mountain View rooms face east and emphasize simple, clean design for travelers who prefer a streamlined stay.

Then there are the copious packages they offer, where the Inn at Wecoma really puts the overdrive in the romantic side or the simple family beach experience.

The Beach Bonfire Package ($69) provides guests with the essentials for an evening fire on the sand, including a s’mores kit with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars, roasting sticks, firewood, a beach towel and a beach bag. This package is intended for use on the beach only.

The Celebration Package ($59) includes sparkling wine on ice upon arrival, along with balloons, streamers and a cake for two. Guests also receive unlimited DVD rentals and an extended 1 p.m. checkout.

The Glass Float Package ($59) highlights Lincoln City’s well-known float tradition and features a small hand-blown glass float, locally made saltwater taffy and a choice of champagne, cider or beer on ice. The package also includes the Inn at Wecoma’s insider Float Finder tips and a 1 p.m. checkout.

The Romance Package ($59) offers a choice of sparkling wine, red or white wine, or sparkling cider delivered to the room upon arrival. The bed is decorated with silk rose petals, and the package includes locally handcrafted chocolates, unlimited DVD rentals and an extended 1 p.m. checkout.

The Kids’ Beach Package ($29) provides a beach bag filled with two small kites, beach toys, snacks, a beach towel and unlimited DVD rentals, offering a simple set of activities and conveniences for younger travelers.

Online reservations for special packages can be made through the hotel’s Reservations page, with booking available only within 72 hours of arrival. Guests wishing to secure a package earlier than that window should call 541-994-2984 to check availability.

So, you wanna bring your mutt? Your furry kid gets to come along as well.

The hotel provides amenities for guests traveling with dogs, offering each pet a toy, a dog bone and cleanup baggies at check-in, with dog bowls available on request. Pets are allowed in all the first-floor rooms, while the second and third floors remain pet-free to accommodate guests with allergies. Additional details are outlined in the property’s pet policy. 2945 NW Hwy 101, Lincoln City, Oregon. 541-994-2984. www.innatwecoma.com
