Update 12/10/25 at 6:35 a.m.
By Oregon Coast Beach Connection Staff
(Seaside, Oregon) – An abundance of alerts and warnings were firing off all over northwest Oregon and southwest Washington as of late Tuesday night, as road issues continue because of flooding - from the Oregon coast and Washington coast into Portland and other valley towns. (Photo TCSO)
However, there's good news: the vast majority of flood watches or warnings in Oregon have been cancelled, although not Washington.
Rain has stalled for awhile Tuesday, but more is forecast, with a fair amount forecasted for Wednesday but much less tha the recent run.
However, rain will continue rather heavily in Washington Wednesday, where flooding was already harsh throughout the state. Routes like SR 6 were closed due to high water.
The largest traffic issue on the Oregon coast was just south of Seaside, which is closed to most traffic (except vehicles with a very high clearance). There are signs it is improving.
You'll have to take lengthy detours to get to Astoria or Gearhart, but Highway 53 is a way southward that only adds another 30 minutes to the drive.
As of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, roads closed or with serious delays include:
US101, from 2 Mi S of Seaside to @ Sunset Hwy US26. Flood warning but getting better. Highway closed to low clearance vehicles. Use alternate route. High water across the highway. The highway is open but restricted to 5 miles per hour. ODOT and OSP personnel are monitoring traffic.
Keep updated at Oregon Coast Highway 101 / Coast Range Traffic
US101, 3 Mi S of Neskowin, Landslide caused issue earlier. Seems to be cleared.
From Tillamook County Sheriff's, the following roads are currently closed due to flooding or debris hazards (as of Tues evening, these may have improved):
• Miami Foley Rd MP 1
• Alderbrook Rd to Possetti Rd
• New Miami River Rd
• Moss Creek Rd
• Hwy 6 approximately MP 1
• N. Main from Front St to Wilson River Loop
• Tillamook River Rd from Frasier Bridge to Hwy 101
NEAR LINCOLN CITY: ORE 153, 1 mile East of Intersection with Salmon River Highway ORE 18 MP 1. Closure: High water. Use an alternate route. Lanes Affected: (Eastbound) All Lanes. (Westbound) All Lanes

There do not appear to be any road issues south of Lincoln City at this time.

Tillamook County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is advising everyone to use caution as regional flooding continues.
“Drivers are urged to slow down, remain alert for debris, and never drive through standing water,” TCSO said. “Motorists must not bypass or drive around road closure signs, as doing so places both the driver and first responders at risk.”
TCSO said one motorist tried to power through a flooded area in Tillamook this morning and caused their engine to shut down.

In Seaside, Seaside Golf Club snapped some spectacular shots of the area from above.
“The golf course is closed today, we are officially part of the Pacific Ocean now,” they said with a dose of humor.
Flood warnings or advisories are still in effect or being upgraded by the National Weather Service (NWS) along the Washington coast, Oregon coast's upper half and I-5 corridor. Warnings or alerts are currently out for:
Pudding River at Aurora affecting Clackamas and Marion Counties
Nehalem River near Foss affecting Clatsop and Tillamook Counties.
Wilson River near Tillamook affecting Tillamook County – among others.
Affected counties in Oregon and Washington: Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Hood River, western portions of Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, Yamhill, Clark, Cowlitz, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum.

The NWS said more of this is coming to various areas from Seattle down to Eugene.
“The rain is shifting south across northwest Oregon today, then will move north to over southwest Washington tonight,” the NWS said. “The forecast rainfall amounts from today through Wednesday night are around 0.75 inch in the South Willamette Valley, 2 inches for the north Willamette Valley, and 3 to 5 inches for the coast, coast range, and Cascades (Oregon and Washington). There will be locally higher and lower amounts then these.”
