Most of Oregon is preparing to get yet another blow of heavy rains and winds, and regional officials are telling state residents to brace for more.

On the south Oregon coast, Coos County (including Coos Bay, North Bend and Bandon) have seen some heavy wind damage. County management said it is working to assess any road closures, with at least one happening at Myrtle Point.

In Astoria, strong winds Tuesday night caused a dock adjacent to the Sixth Street Viewing Platform to collapse. Astoria Parks and Recreation said the failure was due to wind and rain.

“The viewing platform will remain closed as staff evaluate our structure to ensure it was not damaged,” the agency said. “Our AMAZING Public Works staff were able to quickly engage Big River Construction to remove some of the floating debris from the neighboring collapsed structure in order to reduce the threat of damage to the City's property as well as over-water infrastructure downstream of the site.”

Much of the Oregon coast was hit by a significant windstorm overnight, leaving widespread impacts including outages and debris blocking roads and damaging infrastructure. Outages were reported from Seaside well into Lincoln City. See Oregon Coast Weather

The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating with Tillamook People’s Utility District and Tillamook County Public Works to respond. Crews are assessing damage, clearing roadways, and working to restore power safely and efficiently.

Those in the area are urged to travel with caution, avoid downed power lines, and report emergencies through 911. Non-emergency issues such as road debris or outages should be directed to the appropriate agency. Officials emphasize that public safety remains the top priority and thank the community for its patience as restoration continues.

Additional storm-related incidents were reported in the Lincoln City area, including along the Siletz River and Siletz Bay. Resident Jenny Nelson caught a great deal of debris and fallen trees photos in her area, which is near the big landslide on Highway 229. In one instance, a tree had fallen on a truck, and she filmed work crew repelling off the Siletz River bridge to clear away debris in the river.

Manzanita declared a state of emergency late in the afternoon Tuesday after part of a hillside began to move. That declaration is more of a preparation measure, as more rains are expected and more landslides are likely to occur.

ODOT said Conditions are expected to continue and may change or worsen as high winds persist throughout the day.

ODOT crews have been out through the night responding statewide, clearing debris and downed trees where conditions allow and working closely with utility companies where power lines are involved. In areas where high winds are continuing and trees are still falling, it is not safe to begin clearing until conditions improve.

Power outages may affect traffic signals, highway message signs and TripCheck cameras. Travelers should expect delays to continue throughout the day as cleanup and repairs progress. Road conditions, closures and impacts are changing quickly. Travelers should check Tripcheck.com for the latest information before heading out.

Gusts up to 60 mph are possible again into Thursday along the entire Oregon coast, and heavy winds are expected for inland regions as well.

There are numerous surf advisories and warnings on top of all this.

We stayed here at the end of October 2025, and it was exactly what I needed. We were there almost a week, and it was peaceful with a beautiful view. The staff was phenomenal. The room was excellent. The hot tub was perfect and sat right over the beach. Any issue I had was taken care of right away. I can't say enough about the staff. I'll definitely be staying here again.
