(Netarts, Oregon) - Midway through fall brings some serious beauty to the Oregon coast, and the north coast group Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS will host a relaxing, educational evening stroll along the shores of Netarts Bay and the adjacent beach on Saturday, October 18th. (Photo WEBS)
The in-person walk is intended to help participants unwind after a long day while enjoying coastal scenery and learning about local natural history, and the program has limited capacity so advance registration is required.
Marine biologist and photographer Jim Young will lead the walk, pointing out interesting beach finds and explaining bay ecology while offering basic photography tips for anyone hoping to capture the sunset. He will take the group to some engaging sights, explain bay ecology and shoreline processes as the walk progresses, along with his invaluable technical knowledge.
What should you bring?

Photo WEBS
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for sandy and uneven shoreline terrain. WEBS also said you should bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during the walk. It's a good idea to bring snacks if you wish to have a small bite during or after the stroll.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring binoculars for bird and bay viewing; a few binoculars will be available to borrow and share during the walk.

Also, keep in mind it is the Oregon coast: participants should bring layered clothing and windproof outerwear because the coastal moods can shift quickly from warm to cool and breezy. Don't just dress for the weather: dress for various kinds of conditions.
There is no charge to attend this program, but donations to Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS are appreciated to help underwrite future workshops, classes, and community events because the organization relies on donations and grants to keep its programs free and accessible.

Registration is required and additional event details and the registration form are available at https://www.netartsbaywebs.org/events. For questions or to notify organizers of a cancellation, email info@netartsbaywebs.org.
Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS and partner organizations are presenting this walk as part of the Explore Nature series of hikes, walks, paddles, and outdoor adventures; these nature-based experiences are led by a consortium of volunteer community and non-profit groups and are designed to highlight the unique beauty of Tillamook County while showcasing work to preserve and conserve the area’s natural resources and natural-resource based economy.
