Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) says nighttime lane closures and delays are expected this week on U.S. 101 between Seaside and Warrenton as maintenance crews repair damaged pavement.

The agency said it plans to work Monday night through Thursday night, Aug. 3–6, with crews on the highway from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

“Crews will repair ruts, potholes and other deteriorated pavement by placing new hot asphalt,” ODOT said.

ODOT said drivers should be prepared for lane shifts through Seaside using the center turn lane, intermittent closures between Seaside and Warrenton, and the possibility of a northbound detour onto a county road if needed. Minor delays are expected.

They urge travelers to slow down, follow traffic control devices and watch for crews and equipment in the work zone. The agency notes that construction schedules depend on weather and may change – as it is, after all, the Oregon coast.

ODOT says drivers should expect a busy construction season on OR 6 this year, with multiple work zones stretching from Banks to the coast. Not all is happening right away. See the ODOT project site.

Crews are upgrading guardrail along several sections of the highway, with daytime work and periodic lane and shoulder closures. Flaggers will direct traffic as needed.

Paving and road-surface repairs are also underway between mileposts 4 and 9. According to ODOT, both daytime and overnight lane closures may be required to finish the remaining work, and drivers should be prepared for delays.

At Devils Lake Fork, structural repairs continue currently on the Wilson River Bridge. ODOT reports that daytime work and single-lane closures will be in place, with an automated flagging device controlling traffic through the work zone. The agency urges drivers to use caution and watch for crews.
