(Florence, Oregon) – Poignant and yet uplifting; regal and yet relaxing: Florence is a particularly beautiful place to pay tribute to those men and women who have served.
The central Oregon coast attraction will once again honor those in military service once as the 2026 Florence Veterans Day Parade returns to Old Town on Wednesday, November 11.
The parade steps off at 1 p.m. Participants will begin staging at 11:30 a.m. at Florence Christian Church at 2nd and Ivy streets before moving into position near 2nd and Juniper streets. From there, the procession will move east along Bay Street and finish near First and Nopal streets.
Now in its 21st year, the parade has grown from a small community tribute that launched in 2006 into one of Florence’s most visible and valued annual traditions. It's where veterans, military organizations, civic groups, youth programs, emergency responders, local businesses, and families all typically take part - in the past that's included the Siuslaw High School Marching Band. The U.S. Coast Guard Station Siuslaw River and Coast Guard Auxiliary have also been regular participants all along.

“The parade reflects Florence's longstanding connection to its veteran and military communities,” said organizers. “Local organizations include American Legion Francis M. Yost Post 59, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3232, Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary, and the Band of Brothers Koffee Klub. Florence is also an official Coast Guard City, recognizing the community's close relationship with Coast Guard personnel and their families.”
Veterans Parade of Florence, Inc., a local nonprofit, organizes the event each year, coordinating staging, logistics, traffic control, and participant details with the help of volunteers.

Visitors often make a day of the celebration, said the Florence Visitors Center.
“Guests can watch the parade in Historic Old Town, enjoy local restaurants and shops, walk along the Siuslaw River, or visit the Oregon Coast Military Museum and Siuslaw Pioneer Museum,” the agency said.
Above all, the parade offers a moment for the community to recognize the people behind the uniforms - Florence neighbors, parents, grandparents, teachers, business owners, and friends who have served the nation.
