The Finders Keepers Earth Day Special Drop 2026 gets underway tomorrow in Lincoln City. The central Oregon coast town brings you a way to hunt an additional 50 Earth Day floats created by the Alder House. These will be hidden along the shoreline beginning Wednesday and continuing through Saturday, offering visitors an extra chance to discover one of the handcrafted keepsakes.

It continues until Saturday, April 25.

Floats are hidden year-round on Lincoln City’s seven miles of beach, placed only during daylight hours and always above the high-tide line but below the beach embankment - not in the beach grass. Anyone who finds a float is welcome to keep it, though the program maintains its long-standing guideline of one float per household per year.

This Earth Day release is one of six special drops planned for 2026 as the program scales back to emphasize spontaneous discovery over themed events. Other drops this year include the Chinook Winds Casino Resort anniversary release in June, the Fall Kite Festival drop in September, and the Halloween drop in late October, with each event adding a limited number of artist-made floats to the beaches.

“One float per household, per year,” said Explore Lincoln City. “Spread the joy and happy hunting.”

If you miss your chance, the really big drop is still to come in just over a month. The Marie Lamfrom Celebration is scheduled for June 1 – 12, and it will place 130 floats honoring the Oregon coast philanthropist, with registration of found floats supporting local organizations.

Other special float drops are also planned throughout 2026. The Chinook Winds Casino Resort anniversary celebration on June 19 – 20 will add 31 floats to the beaches, followed later in the summer by a 10-float release during the Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival in September.

The Halloween weekend drop, scheduled for October 30 – November 1, will bring another 50 glass floats for beachgoers to discover.

Dates for all special drops remain subject to change due to King Tides or unsafe weather conditions.
