It won't be too shabby inland, either.

The holiday weekend promises plenty of sun for southern Washington and Oregon, even for the coastlines. The National Weather Service (NWS) offices in Portland and Medford are saying there are lovely conditions in store for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Much of western Washington from Vancouver through to Seattle and beyond see the 70s, while eastern Washington gets close to the 90s at times.

Eastern Oregon sticks more to the 70s or 60s.

Calm and dry conditions dominate the region today and well into the weekend, and in fact they warm up gradually on the western half of Oregon. Don't be surprised to see highs in the 70s to the 80s in areas like Portland, Salem and Eugene, while the coastlines stay comparatively warm. The western sides of the metro area such as Beaverton stand a much greater chance of reaching 80 over the weekend.

“The outcome will partly depend on how thick high clouds will be during the morning and early afternoon hours,” the NWS said.

Things continue warming inland over Sunday, but the Oregon coast and south Washington coast will start to head back downward.

“Sunday will also feature increasing high clouds, which will result in slightly cooler temps with highs in the low to mid 70s, except low to mid 60s at the coast,” the NWS said.

Rain will start to creep back in for areas like Seaside, Newport, Portland and Silverton, and highs will dip below 70 for many. This pattern largely stays around in the upper part of Oregon through Thursday, but the southern coast – especially those spots bordering California – will lean towards sunnier and less rainy weather.

Then comes more sun for Thursday and Friday, even for the Washington and Oregon coast. Highs along the beach towns will reach the 70s on Friday, especially south of Gold Beach.
