(Portland, Oregon) – It's as if there was some kind of weather good luck charm for the Pacific Northwest: a dreary run of rainy days and then, poof....just in time for the holiday the sky clears. (Above: Silver Falls, Silverton / Oregon Coast Beach Connection)
Temps will largely return to summerlike conditions throughout Oregon and Washington, starting right about now. The Fourth of July weekend is going to be largely sunny, even on much of the coastline, according to the National Weather Service.
“Onshore flow continues over the next week,” the NWS said. “Near zonal flow aloft today through Sunday will become southwesterly early next week, with surface high pressure building this weekend. This pattern will bring warmer temperatures and a good deal of sunshine during peak heating hours each day. Most inland valleys will warm into the low to mid 80s each day, except 70s today. Onshore flow will keep the coast cooler with highs in the 60s.”
