(Florence, Oregon) - Another full swing around the sun, another winter for this planet. And somewhere on this giant globe, there's a little town with a lot of dark season brightness. (Above: Henhouse Prowlers - Aaron Stein)
That means the Florence Winter Music Festival will return to the Florence Events Center from January 22 - 24, 2026, bringing a midwinter lineup of bluegrass, folk, and Americana to the central Oregon coast. The three-day event features seven touring acts, hands-on workshops, jam sessions, and opportunities for audiences to meet the musicians during one of the region’s quietest visitor seasons.
It's really the coziest time in the region, and this fest frequently sets the area on fire.
Organizers describe this fun-laden happening as an annual jolt of energy for Florence, drawing high-profile performers and boosting the local economy. The weekend begins Thursday night with “Take the Stage!,” a free, all-ages community hootenanny and open mic, before shifting into two full days of ticketed concerts and programming.

Tony Furtado
This year’s lineup includes Thunder and Rain, known for harmony-rich Newgrass; Tony Furtado and Friends, blending bluegrass, folk, and roots-driven songwriting; The Burnett Sisters Band, praised as among the strongest bluegrass performers of the modern era; and Authentic Unlimited, the multi-award-winning group slated to headline Saturday night.

A free community concert in downtown Florence anchors Friday’s schedule, accompanied by informal jams, artist meet-and-greets, and food and drink from local vendors. Ticket options range from a $140 weekend pass to single-event pricing of $55 for Friday night, $45 for Saturday afternoon, and $65 for Saturday evening.
A Bit About Some of the Bands
Thunder and Rain, based in Nashville, mixes traditional bluegrass instrumentation with songwriting influenced by pop, country, classic rock, and old-time music. Their three-part harmonies and driving banjo-and-fiddle arrangements support vivid, image-forward lyrics.
Tony Furtado, widely regarded as a defining figure in Americana roots music, brings a broad repertoire as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His performances draw on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar, and baritone ukulele, blending styles with what admirers describe as the precision and creativity of a master craftsman. Furtado is also an award-winning sculptor.
