(Portland, Oregon) – Finally, it's going to feel like spring over the Easter weekend, although it's going to start with a roller coaster ride in Oregon and some of Washington. Much of inland Oregon and the Coast Range are going to get into freezing territory overnight, and frost is likely.
However, the mid to upper 70s are coming over the weekend for the holiday, reaching close to 80 in some areas.
The farther north you go, however, conditions don't get quite as blatantly spring-like. Seattle and inner Washington get more rain overnight tonight then stay temperate throughout the weekend, reaching only into the low 70s as Vancouver-Metro gets upper 70s.
Inland northern Oregon:
Frost tonight, sunny Friday.
Saturday in 70s and Easter Sunday: 77
Portland and the northern Willamette Valley will see early frost Friday before skies turn sunny with highs near 61, followed by a clear night around 40. Saturday will be sunny with highs near 70 and a partly cloudy night in the mid-40s. Sunday brings partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper-70s, with a mostly cloudy night near 49. Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s, then partly cloudy Monday night around 45. Mostly sunny weather returns Tuesday with highs near 63 and a partly cloudy night around 40, followed by more sunshine Wednesday with highs near 61.
The north Oregon coast will start Saturday with patchy fog before turning sunny with highs near 65, then a mostly cloudy night around 47. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs near 68 and a mostly cloudy night again near 47. Mostly sunny conditions return Monday with highs near 63.
Around Coos Bay to Brookings, the south Oregon coast will be sunny Saturday with highs near 65 and a partly cloudy night around 47. Sunday turns partly sunny with highs near 66 and a mostly cloudy night near 48. Mostly sunny skies return Monday with highs near 61. It's about the same as the north coast.
Heading into south of Eugene, Roseburg and Ashland: it's a bit warmer than up north. Southern inland Oregon will be sunny Saturday with highs near 77 and a partly cloudy night around 45. Mostly sunny weather continues Sunday with highs near 79 and a partly cloudy night near 49. Monday remains mostly sunny with highs near 77.

According to the NWS, the frontal system that brought widespread rain to the region has moved out, setting the stage for a sharp drop in temperatures tonight into Friday morning. Forecasters say high pressure will begin building this evening, allowing skies to clear and creating ideal conditions for frost formation.
“The combination of these cold temperatures, lingering moisture from the recent rain, and light northerly winds will promote frost formation over much of the forecast area,” the NWS said.
The NWS reports a 60–80 percent chance of widespread frost from the Oregon Coast Range to the Cascade foothills, prompting the continuation of a Frost Advisory. Areas under a Freeze Warning are expected to see temperatures fall below 32 degrees, with frost also likely. Meteorologists note there is roughly a 10 percent chance of temperatures dipping as low as 27 degrees in rural parts of the Willamette Valley and the Cascade foothills.
Then it's on to warmer pastures – literally. Inland Oregon will get some real spring.
From Friday night through Wednesday, the NWS says strengthening high pressure will usher in a much warmer and drier pattern. The agency’s Extreme Forecast Index highlights Saturday through Wednesday as days with above-normal temperatures across the region, with Sunday expected to be the warmest.
"The peak day though is Sunday afternoon but the current forecast has sub record breaking highs," the NWS said. "However, for those wanting some vitamin D, it will be a great day to be outdoors."
