The Coos History Museum will mark a decade at its scenic bayfront location with the return of its 2nd Annual Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the museum invites guests aged 18 and older to celebrate with an evening of Bavarian-inspired food, music, and festivities.

This year’s Oktoberfest will feature live performances by the Roseburg German Band and a lively biergarten pouring craft brews from 7 Devils Brewing Company. Attendees can dive into traditional German fare including bratwurst, pretzels, sauerkraut, and a variety of Bavarian desserts. The event also includes themed games such as a stein-holding contest, a cake walk, a costume contest and German trivia.

It's a culinary journey through Deutschland with a south coast slant.

Guests will have the opportunity to really help out the museum.

“Support the museum while bidding on unique items in the silent auction,” the museum said. “Who knows what treasures you might discover?”

Costumes are encouraged, and the museum invites everyone to don their lederhosen and raise a toast -“Prost!” - to ten years of preserving and sharing south Oregon coast history.

Tickets are available for pickup at the museum’s front desk or via will call on the day of the event. More details can be found on the Coos History Museum’s official event page.

Octoberfish, a much-loved and long-lived annual celebration of coastal culture, will return to Charleston, Oregon on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The event takes place at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology, located at 63466 Boat Basin Road, and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As always, admission is free and the festival is held on the first Saturday of October each year.

This lively gathering showcases the spirit of the Coos Bay area through a blend of music, food, art, and community activities. Attendees can expect a full lineup of live music, a tuna cookout, and craft beer served by 7 Devils Brewing Company. The festival also features yoga and movement workshops, local art displays, and games and activities designed for children.

There hasn't been much released on what's coming this year. In previous years, Octoberfish has included a communal apple cider press operated by Charleston locals and a popular “Flow Zone” booth, which highlighted Hawaiian Poi-inspired dance performances with juggling, fire-spinning, and fluid movement. Attractions like these have become crowd favorites and reflect the creative energy that defines the event.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and settle in for a day of entertainment and connection. Proceeds from Octoberfish support the Charleston Food Bank, a mainstay in local community services.
