Hottest Day of Year So Far Coming to Oregon / Washington: Portland in the 90s, Coast is Cool

The National Weather Service (NWS) said get ready for a brief heatwave.

A stretch of warm, dry weather will persist across northwest Oregon - from Portland to Eugene and out to the coast - as high pressure remains dominant through early next week, the NWS said. Temperatures inland will gradually climb, reaching the mid 80s by Friday, upper 80s to low 90s on Saturday, and peaking in the low to mid 90s on Sunday. Interior valleys face a moderate heat risk from Saturday through Monday. Coastal regions will stay cooler, though temperatures may inch up slightly over the weekend, depending on wind patterns.

Saturday and Sunday see the Seattle area flirting with the 90s, but so far staying in the upper 80s.

“Breezy afternoon winds each day may offer modest, localized relief from the heat,” the NWS in Portland. said.

This weekend and early week gets into the 60s along the coast, including Seaside, Manzanita, Pacific City or Newport. It's similar down south for Coos Bay, Bandon and Brookings, although Sunday closes in on 70 degrees.

On the upper half of the coast there's a fair amount of cloud layers all week, but down south sees clearer conditions by varying degrees.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 83. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light north wind.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 92.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 70.  - Inland Oregon Weather 

Seattle and North / Central Washington

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 87.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

North Oregon Coast – South Washington Coast

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 59, accompanied by a north-northwest wind at 7 to 10 mph. On Saturday, expect mostly cloudy skies early, gradually clearing to sunshine, with temperatures reaching around 66 degrees and light northwest winds in the afternoon. Sunday will bring sunny skies and a high near 68, while Monday will also be sunny, though slightly cooler, with a high near 63. By Tuesday, conditions will turn partly sunny with a high near 58.

South Oregon Coast

Friday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 65. North wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Light north wind becoming north northwest 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 62.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming west northwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
