The National Weather Service (NWS) said get ready for a brief heatwave.

A stretch of warm, dry weather will persist across northwest Oregon - from Portland to Eugene and out to the coast - as high pressure remains dominant through early next week, the NWS said. Temperatures inland will gradually climb, reaching the mid 80s by Friday, upper 80s to low 90s on Saturday, and peaking in the low to mid 90s on Sunday. Interior valleys face a moderate heat risk from Saturday through Monday. Coastal regions will stay cooler, though temperatures may inch up slightly over the weekend, depending on wind patterns.

Saturday and Sunday see the Seattle area flirting with the 90s, but so far staying in the upper 80s.

“Breezy afternoon winds each day may offer modest, localized relief from the heat,” the NWS in Portland. said.

This weekend and early week gets into the 60s along the coast, including Seaside, Manzanita, Pacific City or Newport. It's similar down south for Coos Bay, Bandon and Brookings, although Sunday closes in on 70 degrees.

On the upper half of the coast there's a fair amount of cloud layers all week, but down south sees clearer conditions by varying degrees.
