This year’s celebration is made possible through the collaboration of the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Florence, and the Port of Siuslaw. Activities include the Porch Parade from July 2 to 4, a patriotic bike parade down Bay Street on July 4, and crowd favorites like pie- and watermelon-eating contests and live music.

FIREWORKS:
The grand finale fireworks display will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4. Launched from the east end of the Port of Siuslaw Campground, the show will light up the sky above the Siuslaw River, offering a spectacular 30-minute experience. Spectators are advised that private fireworks are not permitted.

THREE-DAY PORCH PARADE:
Locals will unleash their creativity and show their patriotic pride by decorating their front porch, front window, yard, or any area of their home or business visible from the street. Public voting for the best displays runs until 4:00 p.m. on July 4.

BAY STREET BIKE PARADE:
This central Oregon coast town's Fourth of July begins with the festive Bike Parade down Bay Street. Participants of all ages are invited to decorate their bikes, scooters, or wagons in red, white, and blue. Extra decorations will be available at the start of the parade.

PIE- & WATERMELON-EATING CONTESTS:
A long-standing Oregon coast fave, the pie- and watermelon-eating contests will take place at 2:00 p.m. on July 4 near Bridgeport Market at the east end of the boardwalk. Participants sign up beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the contest site. Entry is free and limited to the first 35 competitors in each category. Contestants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

MUSIC AT THE PORT:
For a fifth year, music will be a highlight of the festivities. DJ Al Rojas will host a four-hour show on the Three Rivers Casino Resort Stage, joined by the band FM DAZE. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m., with prize giveaways throughout and patriotic tracks during the fireworks.

Chamber president and CEO Bettina Hannigan expressed gratitude for the continued support of the fireworks show.

“Big thanks go to the Port for their generosity in providing the launch location again,” Hannigan said. “We look forward to celebrating our nation’s freedom and encourage everyone in Florence to find safe and fun ways to enjoy the Fourth—and to look to the skies that evening for a beautiful display we’ve planned.”
