A 43-year-old Arizona woman was rescued Sunday afternoon after injuring her ankle on the steep trail to Secret Beach, about seventeen miles south of Gold Beach, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 1:41 p.m. from Misty Osberg of Glendale, Arizona, who reported she had fallen while descending the trail and believed her ankle was broken. Two on-duty Curry County deputies, an Oregon State Police trooper, Cal-Ore Life Flight, Brookings Fire Department, and the Curry County Search and Rescue team were all sent to the scene.

First responders found Osberg roughly three-quarters of the way down the trail, where several bystanders had stayed with her until help arrived. Medical crews treated her injury before rescuers carried her back up to the parking area. She was then transported to Curry General Hospital.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office thanked the bystanders and responding agencies for assisting in getting Osberg safely off the trail and to medical care.

On the north Oregon coast, there was a dramatic rescue by the US Coast Guard after a teen became trapped on a steep cliff in Lincoln City. Two of his three companions nearly fell as well as they tried to check on their friend on the dodgy terrain. One Teen (and Nearly Four) Needed Rescue from Oregon Coast Cliff - Lincoln City - At least six incidents have happened there in recent years.

The US Coast Guard just released video footage (see it here).

Also on the Oregon coast: Lincoln City fire and rescue personnel responded to a car fire next to a business today (Tuesday). More coming soon.
