(Beaverton, Oregon) – Washington County authorities are looking for a car involved in a hit-and-run in the Beaverton area that seriously injured a person.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 1:52 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 16900 block of NW Shadow Hills Lane in Bethany. Multiple 911 callers reported that the driver of a dark SUV struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.

WCSO said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken leg. Deputies searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The inter-agency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called in to lead the investigation.

Witnesses told deputies the driver had been speeding through the neighborhood before the collision. The SUV was captured on several cameras, and a witness also photographed it immediately after the crash. Video footage shows the driver racing through the area at high speeds. Investigators identified the vehicle as a black Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, likely a 2021 or 2022 model.

Deputies are asking anyone with information about the Jeep or the person driving it at the time of the crash to call non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111 and reference case 50-26-3587.
