Kristin Anderson, a representative of the Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) and coordinator of the exhibit, said the partnership with the Chamber gives artists valuable additional space to share their work. She said that enthusiasm among participating artists led to a particularly full display this month.

FRAA currently represents about 90 artists in its Old Town gallery, and the Chamber exhibit offers a snapshot of the variety of work available through the organization. Anderson said the goal is to give visitors a chance to see a vibrant collection created by artists who take pride in their craft.

The Chamber exhibit features work in ceramics, photography, painting, mixed media, glass mosaic, multilayered wood, and other forms. Artists represented include Pat Briggs, Kris DeNoyer, Patricia DeVito, Debi Ford, Cleo Goss, ELee Hadley, Butch Hovendick, Alan Huck, Suzanne Korosec, Rick LaNasa, Teresa LaNasa, Dan Leasure, John Leasure, Kathleen Leasure, Karen Marie, Shirley Mollring, Greta Olivas, Brigitte Parker, Kim Renteria, Christine Santiago, Jerry Schneider, Diane Seals, Steve Seals, Bobbie Soshnick, Robin Siewell, Elaine Uellendahl, and Jack Uellendahl.

FRAA is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and unifying the arts in Florence. The organization operates its own gallery in Old Town at 120 Maple Street and recently expanded into the FRAA Creative Center at 1458 1st Street, where it now offers more room for classes, events, and meetings.

All artwork on display at the Chamber is available for purchase. Visitors who find an artist they enjoy can visit FRAA's gallery at 120 Maple Street to see additional pieces.

The new Creative Center is also opening doors for FRAA to expand its programming. The added space allows for larger and more varied classes and provides room for events and meetings. FRAA is developing new creative projects, supported in part by a grant from the Western Lane Community Foundation, that will help showcase additional art forms, including performing arts.

Anderson said FRAA appreciates the Chamber's ongoing support of the arts community by offering space for monthly exhibits. She added that visitors often stop by FRAA's gallery after seeing the Chamber display, giving artists more exposure and helping highlight Florence's creative talent.

The Chamber's Visitor Center Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays through August from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
