(Portland, Oregon) – UPDATES: SEE LATEST: Ice and Snow Travel Alerts Throughout SW Washington, Oregon, Coast Range - Winter storm warnings some areas, winter advisories Coast Range / Washington, mostly high elevations
Snow is in the forecast for the inland parts of Oregon and Washington, although it's generally sticking to higher elevations for the valleys and the eastern portions of both states, like Spokane, Baker City or Madras.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said if any snow happens, it'll be above 1,000 feet starting Monday and perhaps into Friday. There is a slim chance there could be a dusting on the valley floor.
“A cooler air mass next week will bring a 20-40% chance for snow levels dropping below 1000 feet each night from Mon, Feb 16 to Fri, Feb 20,” the NWS said. “ We could see a rain/snow mix down to the valley floor, but snow would likely melt upon impact.”
For Portland-Metro area and Willamette Valley (including towns of Eugene, Salem, McMinnville, Vancouver, Silverton):
Light rain is likely early tonight before skies remain mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 30s. Sunday turns partly sunny and mild near 52, with another chance of light rain late Sunday night.

A wetter stretch arrives Monday and continues through the week, bringing frequent rain and periodic rain-snow mixes as snow levels fluctuate between roughly 600 and 1,700 feet. Highs generally stay in the mid-40s to upper 40s, with lows in the low to mid-30s. Little to no snow accumulation is expected at lower elevations, though mixed precipitation remains possible most nights and mornings.
In southern through northern Washington, it's a similar forecast but snow levels stay higher than the Portland-Metro area. Eastern Washington has much higher chances of snow mixes, but not much that's impactful.

Widespread showers will develop Monday morning and continue into Monday night, according to the NWS. Snow levels are expected to fall to roughly 1,000-2,000 feet across the Coast Range and the south Washington Cascade foothills. While forecasters say advisory-level snowfall is not favored, the NWS estimates a 20-40% chance of impactful accumulations in the Coast Range and Cascades through Monday night.
Light snow above about 1,000 feet may persist into midweek, though overall precipitation totals are not expected to be especially high.
Looking ahead to late week, NWS ensemble guidance shows a 20-30% probability of more than 12 inches of snow falling in 24 hours in the higher Cascades from Thursday into Friday. In the Coast Range - including passes on Highways 6 and 26 - there is a similar 20-30% chance of exceeding four inches during the same period.

"A long duration winter event will hit the region Sunday into next week," the NWS said. "Snow levels will change and vary through the event, although impacts appear to be moderate at this stage, especially over higher terrain." -- Bend Central Oregon Weather

On the south coast, the most active and interesting weather comes early on.
Rain will continue through Washington’s Birthday, with showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms developing in the afternoon, according to the NWS. Highs will reach the mid-40s after early patchy fog. Showers and isolated thunderstorms persist Monday night before transitioning back to steady rain, with lows near freezing. On Tuesday, rain remains likely and may briefly mix with snow in the morning before turning to all rain, though no significant accumulation is expected and highs will again reach the mid-40s.
