(Newport, Oregon) – From the south coast to the usual places on the north Oregon coast, seafood knowledge will be pouring down from the heavens. Above: Garibaldi, Oregon Coast Beach Connection.
Oregon Sea Grant is bringing back its popular Shop at the Dock and Discover Oregon Seafood tours for summer 2026, offering the public an inside look at Oregon’s commercial fishing industry from working waterfronts up and down the coast. Shop at the Dock happens in Newport and its bustling bayfront, while Discover Oregon Seafood events take place on the south Washington coast, Warrenton, Garibaldi, Winchester Bay, Charleston, Port Orford and Brookings.
The tours introduce participants to seasonal seafood, sustainable fishing practices and the basics of buying fish and shellfish directly from commercial vessels. Guides explain how local fisheries operate, demonstrate gear used on the docks and share tips for choosing high-quality seafood. Many tours also include chances to meet the fishers themselves.

Shop at the Dock in Newport does not require registration and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Discover Oregon Seafood tours require advance sign-ups.
All tours are free and open to the public.
