(Portland, Oregon) - So much important work to do – so much Oregon coast. This is, after all, the group that oversees CoastWatch, which keeps an eye on these beaches and provides some truly fascinating observations at times.
Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition will host its second annual “Toast to the Coast” fundraising cruise on Saturday, September 20, inviting supporters aboard the Portland Spirit’s Willamette Star for an evening dedicated to celebrating and protecting Oregon’s coastal environment.
The event, scheduled from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., will feature sustainable seafood, live entertainment, an open bar, and a silent auction showcasing exclusive items and experiences. Organizers describe the cruise as both a festive gathering and a vital opportunity to advance the nonprofit’s mission of coastal stewardship.
It's your chance to whoop it up for a good cause.
Founded in 1971, Oregon Shores has long championed the ecological health and scenic integrity of the state’s coastline through education, advocacy, and community engagement. The organization’s work spans from habitat protection to public outreach, with a focus on empowering Oregonians to safeguard the coast’s natural and cultural heritage.
“This is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action,” said Elise Newman, Executive Director of Oregon Shores. “Every ticket sold helps us continue our work to ensure Oregon’s coast remains vibrant and resilient for generations to come.”
Tickets for the cruise are now available, with early reservations encouraged due to limited capacity. Additional details and ticketing information can be found at www.oregonshores.org/toast or by contacting the organization directly at contact@oregonshores.org.
“Let’s come together for an evening of fun, celebration, and a shared commitment to preserving Oregon’s stunning coastline,” said organizers. “Raise a glass with us as we toast to the coast.”
Oregon Shores is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the long-term protection of Oregon’s coastal ecosystems, landscapes, and communities. Through a blend of science-based advocacy and grassroots involvement, the group aims to foster a coast where people and nature thrive together.
