(Lincoln City, Oregon) – Get ready for a beachy kind of holiday cheer.
Winter is kicking in on Oregon's central coast, creating a kind of magical vibe all its own. It's where dramatic coastal skies, cozy seaside stays, and festive seasonal celebrations make Lincoln City an inviting escape.
“Whether you're seeking a restorative retreat, meaningful time together, or a chance to embrace the coast's quiet beauty, winter offers a fresh perspective on this Pacific Northwest gem,” said Explore Lincoln City.
And then there's the holiday happ's. Your beachside yuletide cup runneth over.
Holiday events in Lincoln City begin Nov. 21 with Deck the Dock, when the Taft Dock overlooking Siletz Bay will be illuminated for the season. Festivities start at 4:30 p.m. with holiday music, carolers and seasonal treats, followed by the official lighting ceremony at approximately 4:45 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to arrive at 5 p.m. Seasonal lights will remain on display through the holidays and into the New Year. The Lincoln City Cultural Center's annual tree lighting celebration is also scheduled as part of the city's holiday calendar.
For those seeking seasonal shopping, the Christmas Cottage remains a year-round destination, featuring thousands of ornaments, holiday decorations, German nutcrackers, Santa figurines and other festive gifts. Additional holiday shopping opportunities arrive Dec. 13 with the Surfin' Holiday Market at Pelican Brewing's Siletz Bay location, where visitors can browse handcrafted goods from local vendors while enjoying food and beverages. Pelican Brewing has also introduced its new Biosphere Brew Pale Ale in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Cascade Head Biosphere Region. A portion of proceeds from each pint sold will support the Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative. See more.
Beyond holiday activities, winter offers visitors a quieter side of the Oregon Coast. Area trails provide opportunities for hiking, whale watching, waterfall viewing and panoramic coastal vistas, while cooler weather and reduced crowds create a more relaxed atmosphere throughout the region. Explore Lincoln City is also supporting Theatre West's production of Silent Sky through Nov. 14. The partnership highlights both local arts and ongoing efforts to protect dark skies, reduce light pollution and preserve nighttime habitat for wildlife. See more.

Winter storm watching remains one of the coast's most popular seasonal attractions. Visitors can safely observe powerful Pacific Ocean waves and dramatic weather systems from protected viewpoints along the shoreline, particularly during periods of high surf and king tides. See more.
When storms subside, beachcombers often head to the sand in search of agates, shells and driftwood uncovered by shifting tides and winter weather. The season's changing conditions can reveal a variety of natural treasures along local beaches.

Officials also remind visitors to exercise caution around the ocean during winter months. Sneaker waves and strong surf can occur unexpectedly, even during seemingly calm conditions. Beachgoers are advised to check surf advisories, maintain a safe distance from the water and remain alert near the shoreline. See more.
Local tourism officials say Lincoln City's combination of holiday traditions, outdoor recreation, coastal storms and scenic beaches continues to make the community a popular winter destination for travelers seeking a seasonal getaway on the Oregon coast. See more.
