There's also some possibility Christmas may be extremely windy around Portland and the valley, but that is still not clear for forecasters.

In general, however, there's not a lot that will interfere with holiday travel throughout the state.

Along the Oregon coast, it's nothing remarkable or surprising: just a fair amount of rain and wind, with periodic gusts up to 40 mph.

Ocean waves out there will be on the somewhat large side, making a decent show for rocky areas like Yachats, Bandon or Depoe Bay, but not enough to cause the big stuff at Coos Bay's Shore Acres. Larger waves come in midweek or by Tuesday.

“Seas are also expected to build towards 11-14 ft.,” the NWS said. Oregon Coast Weather

Issues Around Oregon

Flood Warning - Pudding River at Aurora: The NWS has extended a Flood Warning for the Pudding River at Aurora, affecting Clackamas and Marion counties, through Tuesday morning. Minor flooding is occurring and is expected to continue as the river remains above the 22-foot flood stage. At 2 p.m. Monday, the river was at 22.3 feet, with a 24hour maximum of 24.0 feet. Flooding of low-lying agricultural land and access roads is expected when levels exceed 22 feet. Forecasters expect the river to fall below flood stage late Monday night and continue dropping to around 12.7 feet by Thursday, January 1. Bank-full stage is 21 feet. Additional flood safety information is available at weather.gov/safety/flood. Portland Oregon / Beaverton Weather

Winter Weather Advisory - Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains: A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday as a high-impact winter storm brings two rounds of heavy snowfall to Siskiyou County, mainly above 4,500 feet. Snow levels will fluctuate throughout the event. Winds over exposed terrain may gust up to 60 mph, and wet snow is expected above 5,500 feet in the Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, including Crater Lake and Mt. Ashland Ski Park. Total snow accumulations could reach six inches. The combination of strong winds and light snow may create hazardous travel conditions, with potential delays during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Tree damage is also possible. Snowfall probability information is available at weather.gov/mfr/winter.

Special Weather Statement - Gusty Winds Wednesday: The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Special Weather Statement for early Wednesday, warning of southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 to 35 mph between 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. Forecasters estimate a 60–80 percent chance of these conditions. The gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, down tree limbs, and cause isolated power outages. High-profile vehicles may experience difficult driving conditions. High Wind Warning - Lake and Klamath Counties::A High Wind Warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday for Lake County and most of Klamath County, including Klamath Falls, Silver Lake, Summer Lake, and Lakeview. South winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 70 mph. The strong winds may move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, and large inflatable holiday decorations are likely to be blown around. Additional wind hazards are possible later in the week.

Wind Advisory - West of the Cascades: A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday for areas west of the Cascades. Southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. The winds may blow around unsecured objects and could lead to a few power outages. Holiday inflatables may also be displaced. More wind hazards are possible later in the week. - Eugene, Oregon - Springfield Weather -- Corvallis, Oregon - Albany Weather and Alerts

Special Weather Statement - Snow on Cascade Passes: The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Special Weather Statement warning that snow over mountain passes will affect holiday travel through Wednesday. An active weather pattern, including an atmospheric river, will bring light rain to the Cascades, with up to half an inch possible along the crest. Snow levels will fall to 2,000–3,000 feet this evening, allowing precipitation to transition to snow. Snowfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are favored through Wednesday, with 60–80 percent confidence.
