(Newport, Oregon) – The Fourth of July holiday weekend has kicked off officially and if you haven't already snagged a spot to stay, you are seriously out of luck. There are a few far and in between – but it's like looking for a needle in, well, one of the three Haystack Rocks on this shoreline. (Above: Surfland Hotel, LIncoln City)
However, Oregon Coast Beach Connection has gotten wind of a handful of openings: Newport's Inn at Nye Beach and Hotel Sylvia, and Lincoln City's Coho Oceanfront Lodge and Surfland Hotel.
Check out below for specifics. None of them indicated how many – so they'll go fast. Amenities like pet friendly or other aspects you'll have to hit their websites to see.

Hotel Sylvia. The building was originally constructed in 1913 as The Cliff House, a hotel born during the first heyday of Nye Beach. In 1987 it reopened as the Sylvia Beach Hotel, spending nearly 40 years as a beloved, quirky retreat with rooms themed after famed authors.
Bright interiors carried the vibes of Agatha Christie, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Maya Angelou, Hemingway, Alice Walker and C.S. Lewis. Today, genre-themed rooms define the 22-unit property, with spaces devoted to literary non-fiction, fantasy, historical novels, romance and mystery. It remains a booklover’s haven.
Guests can enjoy locally roasted Good Coffee in the first-floor lounge, along with oceanfront fire pits and patio seating for sunsets and conversation. The hotel also offers space for private dinners, holiday events and small gatherings.
Hotel Sylvia is located at .267 NW Cliff Street, Newport, Oregon. www.hotelsylvia.com

Inn at Nye Beach. Set atop a cliff at Nye Beach, the Inn at Nye Beach has long watched over Newport’s moody and rugged shoreline. Its street-facing exterior hints at an old New England inn, yet the shingled façade and coastal touches place it firmly in Oregon’s traditions and a kind of relaxed luxury. The building has been around for decades, evolving in recent years into a more upscale, eco-minded retreat.
Yet always the view is the center of the show.
The outdoor Infinity spa has become a social-media favorite. Picture a crisp evening as twilight settles in, warm water surrounding you while a cool ocean breeze drifts past and stars begin to appear, their glow mirrored in the spa’s gentle light.
Rooms include flat-screen HDTVs, high-thread-count linens, eco-friendly toiletries, gas fireplaces, and microwaves. Options range from studio ocean-view rooms and ocean-view suites to city-view rooms overlooking Nye Beach’s lights. A two-suite unit works well for families. Amenities include board games, a DVD library, wheelchair-accessible elevator service, and artisanal tea and coffee selections uncommon on the Oregon coast.
Guests enjoy complimentary wi-fi and a free continental breakfast, with wi-fi extending all the way to the beach below — ideal for anyone finishing a work task with their feet in the sand. 729 NW Coast St. Newport, Oregon. 541.265.2477. 800.480.2477. www.innatnyebeach.com

A few years ago, this property became Surfland Hotel, emerging as one of the central coast’s more striking remodels. The redesign brought a glossy, modern look with vibrant colors and polished interiors.
A standout feature is the courtyard — a chic, almost urban-feeling hideaway set right in the ocean air. Beyond that, a broad sundeck overlooks the waves, and a walkway leads directly down to the beach.
Amenities include outdoor barbecues, an indoor pool, a sauna, and fire pits. Surfland also offers a beverage bar where guests can grab a cold drink or a local wine and settle into one of the property’s viewing spots.
Every room faces the ocean, with balconies and patios built for storm-watching. Interiors lean into a surf-inspired palette, with cool tones and sunset accents. The hotel is pet-friendly as well, complete with its own pet lawn. 2133 NW Inlet Ave. Lincoln City, Oregon. 541-994-8145. Website here.

For over fifty years, the Coho Oceanfront Lodge has long been one of Lincoln City’s standout stays, partially thanks to its awesome spot above the beach and a reputation for hitting right on the mark with hospitality. It's a boutique hotel to be sure: one with sweeping views, easy access to the sand, and a location that's a decent walking distance to gobs of what Lincoln City can offer up.
On its exterior, the Coho hints at its 1970s beginnings. Some of the architectural lines and textures look back a bit, definitely a glimpse of that "old Oregon coast" that those over a certain age still remember.
Rooms and suites are designed with a modern, eco-minded touch, using reclaimed materials and a variety of impressive details throughout. Along with complimentary Wi-Fi, each unit includes an LED flat-screen TV, eco-friendly bath products, a French press with fresh-ground gourmet coffee, and a Serta Prestige Plush mattress.
The lineup of room types covers everything from simple studios to indulgent suites. Oceanview Studios keep things elegant and streamlined while delivering those full, unobstructed Pacific views. Oceanview Suites add private balconies for taking in the breeze, while Fireplace Suites turn up the coziness for storm-watching season
The hotel also builds out the coastal experience with themed packages. One of the most popular is the Beach Bonfire Package, which sets guests up with firewood, roasting sticks, a beach towel, a beach bag and a gourmet s’mores kit - everything needed for a classic Oregon coast eve by the fire. 1635 Northwest Harbor Ave. Lincoln City, Oregon. 800 848 7006. www.thecoholodge.com.
