(Florence, Oregon) - A lakeside getaway, gourmet dining, and a round of golf - plus some lazy action just strolling the beaches. This is the latest offering from the central Oregon coast burgh of Florence – but doing it for free.
These are all on the line in a new drawing announced by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce. The prize package features a two-night stay at the Florentine Waterfront Hotel on Siltcoos Lake, a $100 dining certificate for 1285 Restobar, and golf for two at Sandpines Golf Links with cart included.
“This certainly will be a memory-making dream vacation for someone,” said Chamber president and CEO Bettina Hannigan. “Imagine a stunning lakeside getaway with free food and drink in Florence, plus free golf at one of Oregon’s best courses.”
Entries are open now at FlorenceChamber.com/contest. The winner, who must be 18 or older, will be announced April 27, 2026.
Hannigan highlighted Florence’s growing national profile, citing rankings from Expedia.com, WorldAtlas.com, and TheTravel.com that place the coastal town among the most beautiful, cozy, and underrated destinations in the country.

Beyond the prize package, Florence offers a full slate of activities: boutique shops, art galleries, museums, waterfront dining, and the iconic Siuslaw River Bridge. Outdoor enthusiasts can head south for dune adventures or north for sweeping viewpoints, quiet beaches, and vibrant tidepools.

Just north of town there's the Heceta Head Lighthouse, well over 100 years of protecting mariners in the region. The trails and just the forest in and around here are jaw-droppingly beautiful. Not far from there is the Sea Lion Caves. On the southern side of Florence, hit the massive dunes in a dune buggy or one of the rented tours-on-wheels that showcase the beginning of forty miles of sandy wonders.
