This beloved Oregon coast tradition will once again turn Florence into a sprawling marketplace, with homes, neighborhoods, nonprofits, and local businesses offering everything from vintage collectibles to handmade treasures.

Organized by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, they said it is the largest ever. The event has become a regional favorite over the past twelve years.

“This is one of our biggest and favorite events of the year,” said Chamber President and CEO Bettina Hannigan. “It attracts deal-seekers from all over the Northwest who love the hunt for great bargains and a coastal getaway.”

Participants can plan their shopping route using the official Garage Sale Map & Guide, which will be available in early September at the Chamber Visitor’s Center and online at FlorenceFun.com. The guide includes descriptions of each sale site to help visitors navigate the sprawling network of pop-up markets and residential offerings.

Beyond the treasure hunt, the chamber said Florence offers a full Oregon coastal experience. Visitors are encouraged to explore the area’s quiet beaches, forested trails, scenic dunes, and recreational opportunities like horseback riding and sandboarding. The town’s vibrant food scene and charming Old Town district add extra appeal to the weekend outing.

“This is more than just a garage sale weekend - it’s a full-scale treasure-hunting adventure,” Hannigan said. “Come for the bargains, stay for the natural beauty, the chowder, and the charm of Old Town.”

Local organizers suggest treating the weekend like an episode of American Pickers - Florence-style.

Travelers are advised to book accommodations early and come prepared with cash, reusable bags, and a strategy for navigating sale sites.
