(Lincoln City, Oregon) – 130 extra glass floats are hitting the beaches of Lincoln City shortly.
From June 1 to June 12, a new round of commemorative glass floats will be hidden along the central Oregon coast as the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation marks what would have been Marie Lamfrom’s 130th birthday.
The green specialty floats, created in partnership with Explore Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers program, include a numbered sticker and a custom glass stamp. Registering a found float triggers charitable donations to Oregon nonprofit organizations. More information is available at MarieLamfrom.org/Birthday, where participants can also submit photos of their finds.
The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation said the 2026 campaign carries added meaning.
“This year, we are partnering with nonprofits across Oregon to support their teams behind the work — the people who show up every day in service of their communities. In recognition of their tireless efforts, we’re creating opportunities for rest, relaxation, and connection,” the foundation said.
Each registered “Marie Lamfrom” float will generate a donation to one of the foundation’s nonprofit partners, supporting organizations focused on education and mentorship, arts and creativity, and health and wellness.
Lamfrom was a special breed of Oregonian. She served as a nurse during World War I, later fleeing Nazi Germany with her family and settling in Portland. She became a dedicated advocate for young people, especially through the Girl Scouts, and volunteered as a troop leader at Shriners Hospital for Children and Providence Hospital. The foundation received expanded resources following the 2019 passing of her daughter, Columbia Sportswear Chairman Gert Boyle, and continues to fund programs across Oregon in their honor.
See the Explore Lincoln City page.
Later in the month, from June 19-20, 2026, there will be an extra 31 dropped in honor of Chinook Winds Casino Resort and its 31st Anniversary Celebration.
