(Bandon, Oregon) – Thanks to Bullards Beach State Park, you may just find you can get your recreation on while becoming a bit of a brainiac. History, music, more history, and yet even more history – along with nature walks, birds and an abundance of nature aspects are planned. It's filling the calendar (and your brain) with fun and fascinating stuff.

The Coquille River Lighthouse, built by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1896 and operated until 1939, sits at the confluence of the river and ocean. Learn more about this piece of history, our very own Coquille River Lighthouse.

The first Umpqua River Lighthouse was built in 1855 and lit in 1857. Due to erosion, the original collapsed — learn more about this wonderful lighthouse.

You may have missed Shark Week, but Predator Night is coming soon. Learn what predators roam the woods and swim in the ocean, what they eat, and whether they could be hunting you. Ranger Rob Brazie worked with mountain lions, bears, wolves, and other predators during his career with Idaho Fish and Game.
