(Garibaldi, Oregon) - A night of music, community, and heart-driven generosity is headed for the North Oregon coast as Kyler’s Big Heart Benefit Concert returns Saturday, September 13, at the Port of Garibaldi event tent. The 2025 edition promises a high-energy lineup and a kind of higher calling, you might say: equip local first responders with lifesaving equipment.
The show features Oregon's famed Jackie Roar and the soul / RnB of Stee.
The benefit is organized by Garibaldi Portside Bistro, which last year raised over $6,000 to fund heart-saving devices for fire departments in Bay City, Rockaway Beach, and Garibaldi. This year’s goal is to expand access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for even more emergency responders along the coast.
The Portland-area's Jacquie Roar rose to fame a little while back as a finalist on The Voice in season 24. Portlanders may remember seeing her float through the city's karaoke scene and making impressions, but she tirelessly gigged in other ways around the region. She's also becoming known for penning her own tunes.
Roar is known for her dynamic stage presence and emotionally resonant ballads, rose to national attention with a four-chair turn for her rendition of Gretchen Wilson’s “Here for the Party.” Her journey through the competition earned her a fourth-place finish and a growing reputation for original songwriting and collaborations with country legends including Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson.

Joining her is Stee, whose smooth and groove-inducing R&B vocals - as well as an electrifying performance of Maroon 5’s “Sugar” - earned praise from coach John Legend and carried him into the Top 20. Stee’s artistry continues to evolve as he builds a devoted fanbase across genres.

The Cavitt family of the north Oregon coast puts on the show / benefit. They said this of the cause:
“In May 2024 we lost our oldest son, Kyler Cavitt, to an unknown heart issue. He was 28 years old, and his life was just getting sweeter. This unexpected news was devastating to our family.

Kyler was a person of great kindness. The world just felt a little safer and a little more comforting with him in it.
Since his passing, the stories people have shared have been a great sense of comfort. They are all tales of his good nature, his special sense of humor, and just how great he made people feel. Kyler truly lived every moment to its fullest and touched so many lives.
And he will continue to touch many more lives because Kyler was an organ donor. It was important to him to contribute in this way, as his uncle and grandfather were organ recipients. To know that he lives on in this way is of great honor to us, his family.

To honor Kyler's life all proceeds of 'Kyler's Big Heart Benefit Concert 2025' will go to purchasing and distributing AED Defibrillators within our community. These are life saving devices that are not currently as accessible as they should be. Let's change that, together!”
