Tunes have an energetic bounce – a different kind of folk than what comes out of Americana genres. Rather, this has shades of Celtic and maybe even Cajun, given a definite French accent.

In addition to their Cultural Center concert, the trio will be engaging with the community through performances and discussions. They will appear at Lincoln City's Taft High School on the morning of April 10 and give a concert at Taft Elementary on April 11. This outreach effort is made possible by generous grants from Creative West and Explore Lincoln City, with accommodations kindly provided by central Oregon coast stalwart Chinook Winds Casino Resort.

Bon Débarras, which translates to "good riddance" in French, features the talented multi-instrumentalists Dominique Desrochers, Jean-François Dumas, and Véronique Plasse. Their dynamic performances combine traditional Québécois music with spoken word, slam poetry, and percussive step-dancing. The result is an exhilarating exploration of history, culture, and rhythm that celebrates the richness of French Canadian musical heritage while embracing global influences.

Winners of the Félix Award for Best Traditional Music Album of the Year from the Québec Music Council, Bon Débarras will showcase tracks from their acclaimed album Repères, as well as other original works that embody their innovative approach to folk music.

"Our music goes beyond mere entertainment; it’s a way to preserve traditions and unite people," explains co-founder Jean-François Dumas. "We draw from the past to create something entirely fresh, full of movement, poetry, and vitality."

Prepare for an electrifying night filled with fiddles, guitars, banjos, harmonicas, and foot-stomping rhythms, as Bon Débarras invites audiences to immerse themselves in the lively and joyous essence of Québécois culture.
