(Bandon, Oregon) – From a slightly more sunny spot (both geographically and musically) comes Dominick Antonelli this month, performing in two different ends of the Oregon coast. The singer / guitarist churns out a deftly intricate mix of pop and jazz that defies easy classification but manages to straddle both worlds easily.

He shows up in Bandon on June 13 at Bandon Fisheries Warehouse, and then saunters into Xanadu in Astoria on the north Oregon coast on June 29.

He actually hits a lot of Oregon and Washington places on this tour, including Lebanon and Cottage Grove. See his web page.

Antonelli is a truly unique artist with what can only be described as a very new take on – well – it's so strikingly new it's impossible to say what it's a take on. It's almost jazz-rock but slightly folky pop. There's certainly a lilting groove-infused drive to it, and he spends quite a bit of set list doing instrumentals. Both curious and different in these over-produced times, even with the fiery guitar tunes he manages to stay easily accessible.

Maybe picture elements of the Neo Soul movement (much of which comes out of Thailand) mixed with some master guitarist. Roddy Frame and his Aztec Camera spring to mind: a breezy, jazzy kind of funk done on acoustic guitar, laced with dizzyingly intricate lines. A more modern take may be Phum Viphurit, or that brief period The Blue Nile went somewhat acoustic.

However, Antonelli fuses it all with complex riffs that pop out of nowhere, as if John McLaughlin (or even Yes' Steve Howe) were being channeled in the midst of the semi-folkish funk. He'll begin one noodly lick and another explodes beneath it before the first is finished.

It's no surprise he's really good at this axe: he says he's been at it for 21 years. The surprise is how dense and layered he is, like a full-on jazz player but with those upbeat, hummable vibes you can get from Taylor Swift.

Antonelli is stepping into the national spotlight with his first U.S. tour, marking a new chapter in a musical journey more than two decades in the making. The Pittsburgh-born, Fort Collins–based guitarist has spent 21 years on the instrument and more than 15 writing original material, shaping a sound rooted in alternate tunings, intuitive playing, and a blend of acoustic warmth with expanding electronic textures.

He recently completed his new album, The Only Road Home, set for release soon. The project reflects the evolution of an artist who draws from integrative health studies, ongoing training in Music and Recording Arts Technology, and a creative practice centered on healing, reflection, and emotional resonance.

Dominick’s performances have taken him from festivals in Thailand and Costa Rica to stages along the East Coast, as well as yoga classes, workshops, and intimate local shows where he merges live music with meditation, group energy work, and writing. Whether on a festival stage or in a small room, he leans into connection — the kind that turns a performance into an experience.

As he continues to develop new projects that bridge electronic soundscapes with his acoustic roots, Dominick remains committed to sharing the gifts that keep unfolding through his craft.
