(Lincoln City, Oregon) – Just wait: what's known as Second Summer on this coastline is about to erupt. Days that are often warmer than summer, less breezes and slowly diminishing crowds will start to kick in. It's an unusually lovely time here – but much of that secret is out. This means that most mid to high-end vacation rentals are already booked up. September is almost as popular as regular summer, and early October often stays this way as well.

In Lincoln City, rental openings during this time are rarer than you think. One firm there, however, is touting a couple with some weekday vacancies. Keystone Vacation Rentals – which also has quite a few doozies in Depoe Bay – is just about all booked up in September, and October is quickly getting so as well. Also, prices have dropped a bit since the close of summer in spite of the run of bookings: Keystone says about $45 a night less.

The meteorological charms of second summer often last well into October, so it's a popular one. Here's two that Keystone said still has some availability in parts of September and early October.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of this laidback part of the Oregon coast, Tidal Treasure offers a spacious and scenic retreat for travelers seeking relaxation and Pacific views. Located within the Pacific Winds complex in Lincoln City, this two-bedroom vacation condo combines open-concept design with upscale amenities, creating a memorable coastal experience.

Guests can begin their stay with a meal on the ocean-facing patio, prepared in a fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances. Indoors, the living area invites quiet evenings beside a river rock gas fireplace, with oversized leather seating and a plasma television offering HD channels and movie options.

Both bedrooms are furnished with king-size beds and LCD televisions, providing comfort and entertainment for guests winding down after a day at the beach. A private oceanfront hot tub adds a luxurious touch, perfect for soaking in the coastal atmosphere.

Visitors also enjoy complimentary access to Pacific Winds’ shared amenities, including a heated indoor pool, exercise room, and game lounge. Wireless internet is available throughout the unit.

Amenities include: ceiling fans, front load washer and dryer, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, linens provided, river rock gas fireplace, wireless internet. Tidal Treasure - Lincoln City. (503) 443-1414.

Another that's open in parts of September is the comfort and character of Coastal Dreams, a second-floor vacation rental perched above the Pacific in Lincoln City. This two-bedroom condo, located within the Pacific Winds complex, accommodates up to four guests and blends modern amenities with classic coastal charm.

The unit’s ocean-facing balcony features a private hot tub - an inviting spot to unwind while watching waves roll in. Inside, guests are greeted by a river rock gas fireplace and a tastefully appointed living space, including plasma televisions in both the main room and master suite. A gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances offers the option to dine in, with sweeping views just beyond the glass.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed and the ambient sounds of the surf just outside the window, while the second bedroom includes two twin beds, ideal for children or additional guests. Complimentary wireless internet is available throughout the unit, and guests enjoy full access to Pacific Winds’ shared amenities, including a heated indoor pool, exercise room, and game lounge.

Amenities are aplenty, but mostly there's the beachfront location, ocean views, and private balcony. Coastal Dreams - Lincoln City. (503) 443-1414.

Keystone Vacation Rentals – Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. (503) 443-1414.
