Florence will roll into one of its biggest autumn traditions that weekend, as classic cars return to Bay Street and hundreds of garage sales pop up across town for a three-day community celebration.

The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back the annual Florence Community-wide Garage Sale, while the Florence Siuslaw Lions Club launches the new Florence Fall Classic, restoring a major downtown car show after a three-year break.

Residents, businesses, nonprofits, and community groups will host garage sales, fundraisers, pop-up markets, and vendor booths throughout the weekend, creating what organizers describe as one of the largest community shopping events on the Oregon Coast.

Saturday’s Florence Fall Classic will fill Historic Old Town with restored classics, custom hot rods, and vintage vehicles, reviving a tradition long associated with the popular Rods N Rhodies show.

“Classic car experts Russ Kroenert and Gary Cargill produced the popular Rods N Rhodies car show for many years as part of the Community-wide Garage Sale weekend, so we’re thrilled to welcome them back,” said Bettina Hannigan, president and CEO of the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce. “The craftsmanship, incredible paint and bodywork, and variety of vehicles have always made this one of the premier classic car shows on the Oregon coast.”

Hannigan said the weekend offers something for everyone.

“Whether you’re planning to clean out your garage, raise funds for a nonprofit or community group, or spend the weekend searching for hidden treasures, this is an event you won’t want to miss,” she said. Registration for garage sale hosts is open through August 31, and participants are encouraged to start setting items aside.

Garage sale registration is available under the Events tab at FlorenceFun.com. A free map of participating sales will be posted online, distributed at the Florence Visitor Center, and available at locations around town.

Hannigan encouraged visitors to make a full weekend of it, highlighting Florence’s shops, restaurants, museums, beaches, golf, dunes, and outdoor recreation opportunities.
