(Lincoln City, Oregon) – Glass floats are still all the rage along the Oregon coast and Washington coast, with more little towns adding such treasure hunts practically every year. Lincoln City is still the largest star in the glass float drop firmament, however, and this month brings a good 100 more of the floats to the town's beaches.

Explore Lincoln City is letting loose 50 more floats on Mother's Day weekend, May 12 – 14. There's now yet another reason to bring Mom to the central Oregon coast.

Then, on May 27 – 29, there will be 50 glass floats again for Memorial Day weekend, the semi-official kick-off to summer.

These are on top of the daily float drops Lincoln City makes, bringing more than 100 glass balls for people to find that month. Yet there's almost 100 more extra floats waiting in the wings.

As summer really gets started in June, the Finders Keepers program offers yet more drops.

Father's Day weekend will see 50 extra floats, happening June 17 – 19. On June 23 -24, the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City celebrates its 28th year, so that weekend features 28 new artisan-made orbs on the beaches.

Even the Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival 2023 gets in on the act. 10 extra floats will be placed on that weekend, June 24-25. More on the Glass Float site

Finders Keepers said floats will be found above the high tide line yet below the embankment of every beach. Behind or slightly under logs or other large beach objects is not a bad place to look. So, no: you don't go and try and find them near the water line. They're not in parking lots, either. Lincoln City's Float Faeries hide them at various times of the day – not in the early mornings, and not done all at once.

As the program name says: Finders Keepers. You find one you get to keep it. Then, bring it to the Lincoln City Visitor's Center at 540 NE Hwy 101 to get an autographed certificate of authenticity and a biography of the artist who created it. Or call them directly at 541-996-1274, text FLOATS to 866-943-0443, or you can hit their registration page. MORE LINCOLN CITY BELOW
