(Long Beach, Washington) – Looking for things that go boom along the Oregon coast and Washington coast won't be a difficult search: just about everywhere from Ocean Shores in Washington down through Brookings near the California border will be lighting the big ones off. However, what's the weather going to be like?
Unfortunately, it won't exactly be dry for Fourth of July, and there's a fair amount of clouds and maybe moisture for much of the weekend along the coastline of the Pacific Northwest. With no small amount of irony, the good weather on the Washington coast and Oregon coast kicks in on Tuesday.
The weather forecasts are remarkably similar for the entire region: Brookings up through the Olympic Peninsula. Friday stays clear to somewhat clear, then Saturday through Monday the clouds kick in, with rain on and off Sunday and Monday.
The summaries from the Portland office of the National Weather Service (NWS) say it well for the whole NW, starting with the northwesterly flow that's keeping things cooler than the season normally dictates. Tonight you'll see a change.

“Overnight will likely see some cloud cover fill back in along the coast,” the NWS said. “On Monday the low will shift further inland and enhance even more northwesterly flow. Expecting the coolest temperatures of the weekend to occur on Monday, although still looking fairly seasonable.”

For the coastlines of Oregon and Washington, this means temps in the mid 60s into Monday, even down through Oregon's Curry Coast. Daytime highs get a little lower the farther north you go from the central Washington coast.
The one blessing is that most forecasts are talking about rain on Monday afternoon - which should be fairly light in most places – then drying up in time for the fireworks shows of the Fourth of July.
Saturday into Monday will see mostly cloudy skies from Washington's north coast down through most of the south Oregon coast. When you get down towards Gold Beach and Brookings you'll start to see a little bit more sun, but not much.
