(Oregon Coast) – The weatherman is touting plenty of sunny weather this weekend on the Oregon coast, as well as temps close to 80 on the beaches. Meanwhile, inland, it’s supposed to reach into the 90’s. Consequently, coastal businesses are expecting to be swamped by visitors running from – and to – the heat, especially after a particularly dismal, cloudy summer on the coast.

The result of this will be far fewer lodging openings over the weekend.

A number of lodgings have reported having availability, but not many. And those that do are expecting to be full by the time the weekend comes.

Some have only Friday availability. Make sure you call ahead to check out the situation, and reserve your room before zipping off to the coast. It will save you a late night drive home or having to sleep in your car (which can easily get you in trouble with the law).
