Scott
Fisher Band Joins Patrick Lamb at Dante’s Friday
(Portland,
Oregon) - It’s a night of musical cross-pollination at Dante’s
Inferno this Friday in Portland, as the funky, jazzy Scott Fisher
Band brings on special guest Patrick Lamb as they open for Seattle
blues-popsters Left Hand Smoke’s CD release party and funk
pop sensations Intervision 5.
Fisher’s band, which performs in the middle
slot about 11 p.m., will host some intriguing jams with saxophonist
Lamb.
Fisher is a sophisticated piano pop troubadour distinguished
by a remarkable voice, deft keyboard mastery and eye-and-ear-catching
poise.
Fisher’s “smart pop” fusion of
old school ‘70s funk-soul-groove and modern piano rock first
earned him national attention with official showcases at the 2002
Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. He followed with a strong
indie release, and in 2005 released his self-titled, self-produced
sophomore album nationally on the 1 AM Approach label. His song
“Tragedy Untold” reached the number two spot at WBCG
in Punta Gorda, FL - landing the act at #136 on the Triple A Radio
charts, as over 20 stations nationwide added album tracks. WBCG
Program/Music Director G. Michael Keating wrote: “Fisher possesses
a keen lyrical relevancy and a lively, up-beat rhythmic energy that
smashes the airwaves with an undeniable resonance. His fine debut
stands out in stark contrast from the pack...a future core artist
who is true to the music."
Scott Fisher’s next album “Step into
the Future,” will be released nationally Summer 2006. The
album is being mixed by multiple Grammy nominee Jesus “Chuy”
Flores, who has worked with Ricky Martin, La India and Intocable.
With the addition
of new drummer Enrique Gonzales, the band gains a more driving,
passionate sound. Gonzales is a LA session player for SONY/BMG and
EMI, and formerly played with Jumbo (a top Mexican alternative rock
act that sold over 100,000 albums). Fisher’s band, which also
includes bassist Matt Voth and guitarist Bob Dunham, tour monthly
between LA and Seattle. http://www.ScottFisherMusic.com
