VIRTUAL TOUR OF NEHALEM BAY
Oswald West State Park, Short Sand Beach

This sprawling, forested oasis of a park runs along the highway for over five miles, encompassing trails through thick rainforests, headlands, viewpoints, campgrounds and some beautiful beach spots.

The park is also the access to Short Sand Beach, otherwise known as Smuggler's Cove, one of the more popular beaches for surfing on the coast.

In the summertime, it's anything but Oregon Coast-like, looking more like a crowded California beach, with people crammed thick into this crescent of a cove - as pictured here.
