Some Lodging, Rooms Still Left for Oregon Coast Fourth of July

(Oregon Coast) – It's not only when the sky lights up on the Oregon coast, but so do the no vacancy signs.

Independence Day is usually when summer really kicks into high gear on the coast, as this is when things being seriously crammed in the rooms at hotels, motels and vacation rentals, lighting up the business outlook for lodgings as well.

For all those rooms and rental, it’s the mother of all weekends. Guests even book their rooms for the following Fourth of July as their checking out from their present Independence Day stay – almost an entire year ahead of time.

This time around, the economy still has a bit of an influence, and the amount of lodgings reporting openings is up a bit from previous years. Still, all expect to fill up before the big night of explosions happens, and given that the holiday creates a four-day weekend for many is raising expectations further.

Still, if you head out to the beach without a reservation, last minute rooms may be as hard to find as white caps in a desert.

Some have two- or three-night minimums, so be sure to check for that. Most listed below indicated openings all weekend, but a handful did not have any on Saturday.
