Once upon a time, there was no Trendwest in Seaside. Here, in the early 2000's, is how the beach appeared during its construction - which took a couple years to complete. For much of that time, these eerie-yet-majestic cranes towered over Seaside, looking not unlike a giant Martian bug in some old, freaky movie from the 60's.
