Moolack Beach - Odd, Soft, Gray Rock, Just North of Newport
Virtual Tour of Newport, Oregon Coast

Look a bit closer and you’ll find oddities embedded in the gray, rather soft rock at the bottom of the cliffs. In one shot, you see seashells sticking out. In another, there are large bolts mysteriously screwed into the rock (see next tour stops).

Below: this is the part of Moolack Beach that includes the access that is steep, difficult and dangerous to descend. The southernmost access has a better trail downwards, as does the northernmost access.
