Newport's Moolack Beach Looking to Devil's Punchbowl, Forested Pathway

Just north of Newport, Moolack Beach is one of those subtle wonders that have been a classic standby with visitors for decades, yet never too populated because parking is only available in small amounts on the highway.

Look to the north, and you’ll see the miles of sand ending at Otter Crest and the Devil’s Punchbowl.

Also pictured: the forested pathway down to Moolack Beach - a mystical walk of astounding beauty. This is the northernmost access. There are two others south of here and those are difficult, even dangerous to descend.

Below: the northernmost access leads to these sights along Moolack Beach. During wintertime, storm action takes out a lot of sand you may get to glimpse the bedrock of the beaches of Newport.
