| Vote for Your Best of Oregon Coast

(Manzanita, Oregon) – You can be a part of the action online, as Oregon Coast Beach Connection is asking the public to vote for or nominate they’re favorite for “Best of Oregon Coast 2010.” You can only do so on the BeachConnection.net page on Facebook, Facebook.com/OregonCoastConnection – and you've only got until December 18. (Above: the Big Dipper hovers above Newport)
The other rule is that all businesses/nominations must be for the upper half of Oregon’s coast – which is BeachConnection.net’s coverage range. That’s still 180 miles of coast, including towns like Florence, Yachats, Waldport, Newport, Depoe Bay, Lincoln City, Neskowin, Pacific City, Netarts, Oceanside, Tillamook, Garibaldi, Bay City, Rockaway Beach, Wheeler, Nehalem, Manzanita, Cannon Beach, Seaside and Astoria.
It’s a bit of an experiment, as so far these have been decided by editorial staff and a small committee of advisors. This year, it’s being done on Facebook. Staff and the committee still have a final input, especially if there’s a kind of tie.
Categories are best seafood, best family dining, best fine dining, new restaurant, best ethnic, best Italian, best bar, best bartender, coffee shop, best lodging redo/renovation, best small lodging, biggest development at an attraction, weirdest natural development, dessert and biggest bummer of the year. Plus, any other category you can think of.
“We invent and change categories all the time for these,” said BeachConnection.net editor Andre’ Hagestedt.
See the Best of Oregon Coast 2009 for last year's winners.
Do you have a favorite drink or type of dish we haven’t thought of – one that stands out at a certain restaurant or bar? A favorite BnB? A favorite Asian eatery?
Think about it, then nominate your favorite via facebook.com/OregonCoastConnection by simply leaving a message there (you will have to “like” the page to comment).
