Pet Friendly Travel, Lodging Grows on Oregon Coast

(Oregon Coast) - It may be the largest growing segment of the travel industry: putting around with your pet while on vacation. It’s happening nearly everywhere. Lodgings around the Oregon coast are keen on grabbing that part of the traveler demographic, with an ever-growing number of hotel rooms and vacation rentals opening up their doors to the pooch.

Not all, of course, are on the pet friendly bandwagon. There are plenty of lodgings that don’t accept pets. In fact, Seaside has only a tiny handful of pet friendly places to stay. Still, those that do really go out of their way to treat Fido as well as mom or dad pet owner. And vacation rental companies usually have several homes in their roster that accept animals.

SAN DUNE INN NOT to be confused with the San Dune Pub in town, this one is very pet friendly (we've been told some readers of our publication have tromped into the tavern and claimed they'd read it was pet friendly).

The San Dune Inn has 14 such cozy rooms, all of them with VCR's, cable TV, a small fridge, microwave and access to all the cool freebie amenities for sand play, as well as free movies, games and even books. Six of the rooms feature full kitchens with separate living room and bedroom areas. Plus, there's this nifty little barbecue area out back with a tent lounge.
