A famous little family eatery where the seafood practically gets shuffled from the sea straight into your mouth. Soups and salads include many seafood specialties, including cioppino, chowders, crab Louie and cheese breads. Fish 'n' chips come w/ various fish. Seafood sandwiches with shrimp, tuna or crab, as well as burgers. Dinners like pan fried oysters, fillets of salmon or halibut, sautéed scallops.

Oregon Coast vs. the Heatwave: Lodgings are Winning

There are numerous vacation homes open in Rockaway.

(Oregon Coast) – It's a serious dog-eat-dog world out on the coast, with 100-degree temps and higher inland. The no-vacancy signs for the weekdays are as prominent as the cars along 101, and many are getting turned away as they walk in without reservations, hoping to find a place to bed down in the cool, coastal air.

Tuesday saw a scramble for rooms with a horde of heat refugees flooding the coastline. Later that night, cars parked by the side of the road with owners sleeping inside were plentiful.

To help the situation a little, BeachConnection.net has contacted close to 1,000 lodgings along the coast and gotten a small response from those with rooms Thursday night through Saturday night. Not all those listed below have openings the entire three days, but many do.

Thursday night – like tonight – is expected to get filled up fast. Walk-ins are making that happen more than phone calls, so make sure you reserve your place now.

These listed below may be more likely to have openings tonight: when the valley is expected to be at its worst.

There are numerous lodgings that have not reported to BeachConnection.net because they know full well they’ll fill up by walk-ins alone. So you may check the regular lodging page at BeachConnection.net for more options.
