(Oregon Coast) - Sometimes the Oregon coast pulls a lot of surprises. In this case, the denouement is that there are more lodging openings than usual for the end of summer. Considering it's the end of August and that the Hood to Coast is set to hit Seaside this weekend, the amount of lodgings reporting availability is rather unusual.

There are, of course, a sizably larger amount of lodgings the farther south you go, such as in Lincoln City, Newport and Yachats.

Again, as always, make sure you call ahead of time and do not just head to the coast and hope to find a room - especially this time of year.
